Scotch Malt Whisky Blind Presented by Highland Park Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Join Martin Daraz, Highland Park’s award winning Brand Ambassador, for a tasting class that will explore the sensory analysis techniques used by master blenders and whisky makers to produce single malt. You will nose, taste and try to identify between 16-20 different Scotch Malt Whiskies blind. Previously only available to the trade, this fun class is a great way to experience Scotch Malt Whisky, all with lunch set against the beautiful backdrop of Portland’s newest gastro-pub and watering hole, the Richmond Bar, from the owners of Clyde Common.

Apéritif Cocktails 101: Elegant Fundamentals with Lady Lillet
Join “Lady Lillet,” Amanda Victoria, Senior Editor Tracy Howard of Imbibe Magazine and Barman John Salas of St. Jack, for an early apéritif hour at St. Jack to kick off Portland Cocktail Week with elegance! Together they invite guests to this interactive experience—each guest will create two apéritif-style light, and refreshing cocktails while learning fundamental facts about the history of apéritifs and current culture trends. Enjoy delicious French pastries from St. Jack to get your morning started right while we embrace the apéritif!
I’ll Take Manhattans, The Story of Bitters
An historic overview of aromatic bitters that includes the history, and origin of many of the key botanicals and spices used to prepare Bitters. A tasting of five aromatic bitters on their own then each in a 1oz taste of Rye Manhattan. The seminar concludes with Manhattan Cocktails made with Rye and Bourbon and the bitters of your choice. We usually serve light snacks at the end of the tasting portion of the seminar.
